Obituary of David Brown
It is with deep sadness to announce the unexpected passing of Dave Brown on December 21, 2022, at just 68 years old. He leaves behind the love of his life and wife Carol-Ann and his two sons Todd and Jason and grandson Axel, and his sister Christine, to join his beautiful daughter who tragically passed in 2021.
Dave had a 35 year-long career with the federal government where he made many life-long friendships and most became like family. Dave lived his life every day and was unapologetically himself no matter what. He was passionate and a hard ass and protective of those he loved, and he showed his love in his actions as he was an extremely generous man. Though many did not agree with all of his opinions, no one could deny that he was unafraid of speaking up on what he believed in and stayed true to his convictions.
You didn’t need to know Dave well to know that he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fanatic, but for those that did know him, knew how much of a fan he really was and it was especially evident in his man cave that was decorated with his endless collection of Steelers’ memorabilia – if he could stamp it with a Steelers’ touch, he did. His love of fishing came at a close second and he enjoyed countless fishing trips with his son, nephew, brother, and friends. The planning he put into those trips showed just how dedicated Dave was to whatever he was passionate about.
Dave loved a good road trip and took many with his wife. They travelled from Alaska to Jamaica, with numerous stops in Pittsburgh during training camp to show their support and pick up more gear from the Pro Shop.
Dave will forever live in the hearts of those that loved him and although his life on earth has come to an end, comfort can be found in knowing that he will be reunited with his beloved daughter so they can watch the Steelers’ games together and forever fish at Reservoir Gouin, with a cold Blue in his hand and sandwiches packed in the cooler.
A heartfelt thank you to the EMTs and the Heart Institute for doing everything they could. The family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and neighbors, in the aftermath of Dave’s passing.
Dave’s wishes were to not have a service but anyone wishing to leave their condolences, are welcome to do so on the funeral home website, for the family to view.
