Walter was a friend we met and knew through golf at Bearbrook.
We played golf with him and against him. As a competitive friend or foe he was the same, a joy to play with, generous with praise in defeat, modest and self assuming in victory.
The game Walter enjoyed in his last year showed all of us who knew him that his spirit and courage transcended the pain and adversity. A wonderful example to
family, friends and acquaintances.
